Welcome to Tate Elementary School where everyone enters as a friend and leaves as part of our unique family community. I am Destini Chastain, assistant principal and learning support specialist. As a lifelong resident of Pickens County, I feel extremely fortunate and blessed to be able to give back to the community where I was raised. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State College and University. Tate Elementary has always been my "home" as I began my career in education as a paraprofessional in 1998, taught first and fifth grades for seven years, and am beginning my third year as assistant principal and learning support specialist. I have two children, Jadyn age 9 and Tyler age 5, both of which attend Tate Elementary. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my children, traveling, riding motorcycles, photography, and writing poetry.
